General safety information
Please read carefully before using the system for the first time! Please read the user manual for the myostyle smart device, myostyle smart suit and myostyle smart app carefully and store it in a safe place.
Never use the product if it is not working properly or if it is damaged. In the event of faults or malfunctions, please contact our technical customer service team via email or via telephone.
The product must only be used with original accessories.
WARNING: Please keep the myostyle smart device away from water and other liquids. Failure to do so can result in uncontrolled flows of electricity, electric shocks and/or damage to the device.
The myostyle smart suit can be moistened in accordance with the instructions set out in the user manual.
CAUTION: Simultaneous connection to a medical electronic device can result in burns to the skin under the electrode surfaces and damage to the myostyle smart device.
CAUTION: Do not use the full myostyle system in close proximity (< 1 m) to a medical electronic device for shortwave or microwave therapy.
WARNING: The product must not be used while operating a machine or while performing other activities that require a high level of attention (e.g. when driving a vehicle or sitting in traffic)!
Important note concerning the myostyle smart suit and the electrodes
CAUTION: When putting on the suit and the electrodes, always observe the instructions in the user manual for the myostyle smart suit!
- Before putting on the suit, clean the areas of skin that the electrodes will be in contact with. If this is not done, incorrect operation cannot be ruled out.
- When it comes to stimulation and electrode positioning, particular caution is advised for individuals with metal implants who have sensory disturbances in the area of the metal. Sensory disturbances can cause the user to set the stimulation/training intensity to a level that is too high, resulting in skin irritation with redness of the skin or pain in the area of the metal implant. In this case, the stimulation must be stopped immediately!
- Ensure that no metallic objects – such as jewellery or piercings – come into contact with the electrodes during stimulation/training. If this happens, it can cause burns in certain areas of the body.
- Tattoo inks can contain metallic pigments, and in rare cases, when current is applied to the body, these metallic pigments can result in high current densities, resulting in skin damage.
You should avoid the stimulation of tattooed areas of the body if possible. If this is not possible, pay close attention to the stimulation of these areas and end the training session immediately if you notice any irregularities, discomfort or other types of irritation. - Current densities greater than 2 mA/cm2 on all electrode surfaces can require increased attention from the user. Failure to do so can have painful consequences.
- Make sure the myostyle smart device does not fall from height and always handle it with care.
- Only use the myostyle system at a temperature of between 10°C and 40°C, a relative humidity of between 30% and 70% and at an atmospheric pressure of between 70 kPa and 106 kPa. For this reason, you should never use the product in the bathroom or in other humid environments.
WARNING: Do not use the myostyle system in the vicinity of potentially explosive and/or flammable substances or vapours!
CAUTION: If the device is subjected to rapid changes in temperature from cold to warm, only turn the myostyle smart device on once it has reached the same temperature as the environment in which it is to be used (wait at least 30 minutes). Failure to observe this instruction can result in condensation forming inside the device and subsequently causing electric shocks, fire, damage to the device and/or physical injuries.
Particular care must be taken when using the myostyle system in close proximity to children. Always store the product and its packaging out of the reach of children.
Store the product in its original packaging to protect it against damage or contamination.
For commercial use of the product in Germany, in accordance with § 11 Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV), the operator is obligated to carry out safety checks for the product at regular, appropriate intervals. The manufacturer recommends carrying out safety checks for the product every 24 months. Please observe the relevant legal provisions for your country.
Indications for the myostyle training system
- Retention or development of muscle mass, strength and endurance in the trunk area, upper arm area and thigh area for problems in the back and joints that are caused by lacking and/or weak muscles.
- Rebuilding skeletal muscles after long periods of limited movement or immobility
- Correcting muscular imbalances
- Weakness of the pelvic floor
Contraindications for the myostyle training system
In the following cases, the myostyle training system should not be used, or should only be used after consulting a qualified medical practitioner:
Users who release excessively high levels of muscle enzymes and proteins (e.g. creatine kinase, myoglobulin) as result of muscular training. The release of these enzymes and proteins can also be caused as a result of taking medication (e.g. cholesterol-lowering drugs such as statins) at the same time as training and requires medical supervision.
- Users who suffer from a seizure disorder (epilepsy)
- Users with open wounds and skin diseases in the areas where the electrodes are attached
- Users who have undergone an operation that has not healed yet in an area that will be affected by EMS
- Users suffering from inflammatory ailments in an area that will be affected by EMS, such as inflammation of the intervertebral discs, bones, blood vessels or soft tissue
- Users with a malignant disease in an area that will be affected by EMS
- Users with electronic implants, such as a pacemaker or pump
- Users who have had coronary stents fitted
- Users with cosmetic implants (e.g. breast implants) in an area that will be affected by EMS
- Users with cardiac arrhythmias
- Pregnant users
-
Users who have recently suffered from a herniated disc
or other instabilities such as hernias (e.g. an umbilical hernia) in an area
that will be affected by EMS
- Users who have suffered a broken or fractured bone that has not healed yet in an area that will be affected by EMS
- Users with blood clots (thrombi) in an area that will be affected by EMS
- Users bone diseases in the affected area that are associated with a higher risk of fractures, such as the later stages of osteoporosis (bone decalcification)
